EARLIER this year, the Physical Education Instructor (PEI) team at HMP Glenochil held a charity event to raise funds for the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund.
This event took the form of a charity Bench Press with the aim of bench pressing a total of 1 Million Kilograms in one day.
Individuals in custody and Glenochil staff came together and after an incredible effort, a total of 1,543575kg was lifted - far exceeding the target that was set!
Due to the fantastic generosity of everyone involved, a total of £1,100 was raised for the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund.
The charity was set up in 2010, in memory of 15 year old Eilidh, who sadly passed away following a courageous battle against cancer. It's aim was to open a respite holiday home in the Stirling area for young people and their families affected by a cancer diagnosis. The home opened in 2022 and ongoing fundraising means that more families are able to enjoy quality time together during the most difficult of circumstances.
Eilidh's father, Gordon attended HMP Glenochil in September for a cheque presentation and to meet some of the team involved on the day.
