The Trade Union (Facility Time Publication Requirements) Regulations 2017 require public sector employers to publish information relating to facility time by 31 July each year. 
As a public sector employer with more than one trade union representative and more than 50 employees, SPS is required to publish a report outlining the "facility time", (agreed time off) for employees to carry out trade union roles.
 

This document forms part of the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) suite of Family Friendly & Work Life Balance Policies and sets out the rights of SPS employees to shared parental leave and shared parental pay.

The Scottish Ministers make the following Direction in exercise of the powers conferred by section 39 of the Prisons (Scotland) Act 1989(a) and rules 55, 56 and 156 of the Prisons and Young Offenders Institutions (Scotland) Rules 2011 (b) (“the Prison Rules”) and all other powers enabling them to do so.

The Mother and Baby Policy is a multi-agency approach to the decision-making process of actively promoting the wellbeing and positive life outcomes for babies whose mothers are in our care.

This policy is applicable to all SPS establishments containing a Mother and Baby Unit (MBU).

The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) is committed to building a safer Scotland and Unlocking Potential – Transforming Lives.
