This the first of five Scottish Prison Service (SPS) Annual Delivery Plans, which will support the implementation of our Corporate Plan 2023-28.

We have developed a ‘Delivery Plan’ which aims to chart our journey from recovery to renewal across the remaining duration of the Corporate Plan.

This Annual Delivery Plan (ADP) describes the programme of service development and improvement for the year. In this ADP, we detail the Essential Actions we will undertake in 2019/20.

The Advisory Board provides the Chief Executive and senior management team with support, advice and challenge.

As outlined in the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veteran’s Statement on Sunday 29 January 2023, the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) has undertaken an urgent lessons learned review in relation to the management of a transgender individual currently in the care of the SPS in the male prison estate.

The Scottish Prison Service on behalf of Scottish Ministers, fully support and are committed to the opportunity to participate in the redress scheme for survivors of historical child abuse in care in Scotland.
